Remembering Our Loved Ones

PTTR’s “A Thanksgiving to Remember” wishes to invite the public to participate in our Memorial tribute to honour those we lost in 2020-2021.

Being able to honour our lost loved ones was only one of the many challenges and sacrifices some had to experience throughout the pandemic.  A Thanksgiving to Remember is providing two event opportunities to remember, acknowledge and honour your special friends or family…

Parade & Memorial Kites:

Create a colourful memorial kite to celebrate and remember then join us in the parade.  For safety reasons, all kites must be fastened to dowels or poles.  No strings or ropes will be permitted.  Further information will be available closer to the event or email us at pttrpcca@gmail.com.

Memorial Park:

PTTR has commissioned a local Port Credit Artist, to design and install a beautiful Memorial Art Installation.  Visit Dave D’Eyre Square and write a sentiment of love on one of the many fluttering wings.

Watch our Facebook Page for updates as the event approaches.

Since 2003, Paint the Town Red has been a free Canada Day celebration for our community, Mississauga and the surrounding area. It is attended by tens of thousands of people from all across the GTA.

Our celebration begins with the mile long, Hazel McCallion Canada Day Parade that commences at Stavebank Road south on Lakeshore Road and travels East to Seneca Avenue. The parade is a star-studded production with colourful floats, characters and marching bands, which is immediately followed by a giant cake cutting ceremony at the parade routes end. Families can enjoy a free piece of our Canada’s National Flag cake.

The festivities continue throughout the afternoon and into the evening around the village and in Port Credit Memorial Park where many musical performers entertain the crowds on our Main Stage and Kid’s Stage. Also at the park are children’s activities, interactive games, shows and so much more…

The evening ends with the most spectacular fireworks display!
