Hazel McCallion Canada Day Parade – July 1st, 2018 7:30 am until 12:30 pm
Parade Set Up & Staging (Port Credit Harbour Marina – 1 Port Street)
Participant / Volunteer check in
Parade Entry / Volunteer registration desk – to greet entries as they arrive and sign them in.
Must be organized & personable. Can be hectic and stressful at times, during peak sign-in time.
To assist with serving light food options to participants before the Parade. Must be able to move at a fast pace, be on your feet for long periods of time.
Banner Carriers (2 per banner)
To walk in the Paint the Town Red Parade. Part of a 2-person team on a banner, or a large group holding the Flag.
Opening Ceremonies & Cake Cutting – July 1st, Wenonah & Lakeshore 12:30 – 1:30 pm
Cake Cutter / Server
To assist the “Cake Boss” with cutting and serving the Canada Flag cake to the public. Can be hectic and fast-paced, must be able to be on feet for long periods of time. Assist with clean up afterwards.
Port Credit Memorial Park, Lakeshore Rd
July 1st, 2018 12:00 – 11:00 pm;
Working with the Park Manager (Beatrice) and Logistics Manager (Vince).
Set up equipment in Port Credit Memorial Park – tents, picnic tables, chairs, etc.
Tear down at the end of the festival.
Must be able to lift. Closed-in shoes a must.
Volunteers will assist performers in set up and tear down, if needed, ensure water is available, maintain performance schedule.
Volunteers needed to monitor the parking lots at Port Credit Arena and Port Credit Library.
Port Credit Arena parking will be barricaded, as the fireworks take place at that end of park. Monitor the barricades, making sure no cars drive in.
Port Credit Library parking will be open to public, volunteers will be keeping track of spaces and re-directing cars when necessary.
Must be mature, able to deal with public.
To assist at the entrance of the VIP area in the Park, checking wristbands and assisting guests to their table. Must be mature, personable. 19+

It is important that you attend this meeting, especially for new volunteers. You will meet the organizers and you can find out everything you need to know about volunteering for Paint the Town Red! Please arrive promptly by 7:00 and I promise we will only take an hour or so of your time. Bring your questions and your enthusiasm!
