12PM at The Lighthouse!

For the hundreds of students who attend Lowe’s School of Music, the Port Credit Paint the Town Red Canada Day event is the highlight performance of the year. Not only do they get to perform on stage for their family and friends, they also play for the huge crowds that are drawn to the event.
Many of our students have become friends outside of class, and have formed their own bands. They get together, learn songs, and practice all on their own time. Finding places to perform however is very difficult to do, especially for the younger kids in the 8-15 year old range. For these kids, local community performances are a huge advantage and a true thrill!
A large percentage of our students sign up for the Canada Day event, and we ensure that they all get some their time on stage. For the more nervous students, we have teachers join them on stage to give them a solid backup and the added confidence to play for so many strangers.
We are proud to say that many of our students were accepted in to the Regional Arts Program at Cawthra Park Secondary School this year. Cawthra only accepts one or two guitarists a year, and both are from our studio. They have worked hard this year to platy at their absolute best, and are looking forward to showcasing their talents on Canada Day!
